What are contact lenses?

A contact lens is a thin, curved lens placed on the film of tears that covers the surface of your eye. The lens itself is naturally clear but is often given the slightest tinge of colour to make them easier for wearers to handle. Contact lenses can be available in the hard / RGP (Rigid Gas Permeable) or soft contact lenses.

When should I wear contact lenses?

The most common reason why you should use lenses is to improve and rectify the refractive errors like Hyperopia, Myopia, Astigmatism and farsightedness. There are also special types of lenses that are used to rectify the defects made in the curvature of the eyes for the correction of the subnormal vision.

Soft Lens or Hard Lens- which one can I wear for daily use?

Whether it’s your desire to wear a particular kind of lenses or whether you read it somewhere from the magazine, it is best to consult a doctor first and let them decide what is the best choice for your eyes. Usually, for eyes that have high numbers, soft contact lenses are the best choices. However, the same variety of lenses is not suitable for eyes suffering from astigmatism.
